Local Adventures: Happy Place

Over the weekend, we had a local mini adventure. A pop-up Instagram haven visited Chicago. So of course we had to check it out and  it was a fun time. The purpose of Happy Place is exclusively for giving you instagram pictures, not an interactive experience. Some of the rooms were pretty creative, some not so much.

In my honest opinion, $35 per person is a pretty hefty price for the whole thing. I was hoping for more...more interaction and a staff that's more willing to help get you that good picture. The website does talks about the staff being there to help you capture your pictures. Don't get me wrong, the staff was very nice and they took pictures but you're better off asking your friend or family member. There's a lot of people and they need to get the flow going, so they have to take the pictures quickly. However, getting the best picture is the main point of the whole place so that was just a little disappointing.

Again, I just want to point out that we did have fun and the photos turned out great. If you have a friend who is willing to be your photographer and you're trying to get some insta-worthy photos, then I definitely think you should try it.

My recommendation is to think of poses and visualize the photos you want taken. Check out the different rooms that you'll get encounter.

Happy Place is in Chicago till September 3 and is open everyday except Tuesday. If you go on a weekday then it's $30 + service fee of $2.50 and weekends are $35 + service fee of $2.50.
